Genworth was named the winner of a gold Stevie® Award in the Financial Services category of The 15th Annual International Business Awards® (IBA) for its new website,, devoted to helping families understand and prepare for the impact of growing older on their health, families and finances.

Genworth’s website also was recognized by the dotCOMM Awards for excellence in web creativity and digital communication with a Platinum Award, the top award in the Website/Finance category. The dotCOMM Awards is administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.

Graphic Design USA recognized as well with a 2018 American Health+Wellness Design Award™. The award, honoring the best of graphic design and marketing in the medical and healthcare industries, is one of the most selective graphic design competitions with only 150 winners from 1,500 entries.

The content for the new website was based entirely on user experience research to understand what consumers wanted from a website devoted to planning for long term care.

Said Janice Luvera, vice president of Marketing at Genworth, “Our goal was to create a refreshingly different, contemporary website that addressed consumers’ desire for information about the impact of aging on their health, families and finances.  We also wanted the site to reflect our desire to be a trusted ally for everyone who needs care as they age and those who love them.”

The dynamic, unconventional website was designed to invite exploration and provide empathy as well as insight into the joys and challenges of growing older.  The site even offers simulations that allow visitors to experience many of the visual, auditory and mobility impairments that can jeopardize a person’s ability to care for themselves as they age.

The impairment simulations are part of a new “Aging & You” section, the heart of the redesigned website. There, visitors will find:

  • Videos of real families sharing their caregiving experiences.
  • Resources related to the family dynamics of caregiving, such as how to approach parents or a spouse about planning for long term care.
  • Descriptions of various care setting options.
  • Information about public and private sources of funding for long term care.

The “Aging & You” section is also home to Genworth’s flagship Cost of Care Survey interactive tool, which, during the past 15 years, has become the go-to resource for families planning ahead for long term care.  The tool allows visitors to compare costs across different care settings and even among different cities, as well as project the cost of care into the future.
