The Marketing Alliance, Inc., a provider of services and distributor of products to independent insurance agencies throughout the United States, has announced that Jack Dewald, CLU, RHU, president of Memphis-based Agency Services, Inc., a full-service life and health insurance brokerage agency, was elected chair of the board of directors, replacing former Chairman Ronald D. Verzone, CFP, LTCP.
Dewald was the 2010 chair of The LIFE Foundation, a national non-profit consumer education and awareness organization funded by more than 140 insurance carriers and seven major national trade associations. Previously, he served as the 2003 chairman for the National Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (NAILBA), officer of the NAILBA Charitable Foundation, president of the Memphis Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (1991), and president of the Memphis Health Underwriters Association (1987).
Timothy M. Klusas, TMA’s president, stated, “Jack is a rare leader who leads by example and relies on keen business acumen to deliver results for all of the organizations to which he has belonged. Jack is also a successful business owner who understands that the foremost priority for his business is to serve the needs of his clients.”
Klusas continued, “Ron initiated the board’s thinking on a succession plan, and to his credit, he created a process that emphasizes continuity and consistency at the board level and in the company.”
Verzone, chairman of Exeter, NH-based United Underwriters, Inc., will remain fully engaged as a member of the board of directors. He has served as chairman of the board since TMA’s inception in 1995.
Dewald stated, “Ron has been invaluable to TMA’s growth as a business from the very beginning. Under his board leadership during the past 15 years, TMA has built a reputation as an innovative, nimble and nationally recognized company providing premier service to our distributor customers. He is dedicated to everything in which he is involved, and his influence is felt throughout the organization.”
