    NAILBA’s Charitable Foundation

The NAILBA Charitable Foundation is the philanthropic arm of NAILBA. Its mission is to encourage volunteerism among NAILBA members and provide grant funds to worthy charitable organizations that serve to enhance the quality of life for those less fortunate, with a special emphasis on children. The foundation awarded grants to the following recipients for 2012:

     • HUGS (Help, Understanding & Group Support), Honolulu, HI: $25,000—Recipient of the Col. J. William Felton III Grant

     • Alexander Leigh Center for Autism, Crystal Lake, IL: $21,800

     • Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of Passaic County, Wayne, NJ: $20,000

     • New Orleans Women’s Shelter, New Orleans, LA: $15,000

     • Quest for Grace Foundation, Rexford, NY: $15,000

     • Give Them Wings, Inc., Hood River, OR: $5,485

     • LIFE Foundation—LIFE Lessons Scholarship Program, $30,000

Many of NAILBA’s partner companies contributed to the Foundation, including: Legal & General America—$40,000; Prudential—$25,000; The Marketing Alliance—$22,160; Genworth—$20,000; Mutual of Omaha and Protective—$10,000; plus many others.

In addition, $15,500 was raised from NAILBA’s annual golf tournament raffle to support the Alan Palmer Memorial Scholarship Fund at Emory University. The TYGERS (of which the late Alan Palmer was a member) were responsible for all of the prizes raffled at the golf tournament awards reception, as well as an additional donation of $3,000.

NAILBA’s Charitable Foundation has many exciting plans and new ideas for donor recognition during the coming year. They are firmly moving forward with the goal of the founding chairman (the late Colonel Bill Felton): “We have laid the foundation for growth. We are ‘bridge builders.’ We wear hard hats. We make life better…we have a date with the future. Let us keep it!”
